Everything You Need to Know About the Mythical Animals

This section of the page will detail everything you need to know about the Mythical Animals and how they factor into the game.

• Mythical Animals are the toughest wildlife in the game, even more difficult to kill than Alpha Animals.
• All Mythical Animals are also accompanied by at least three of their normal kin. For example, Mamutito, the Mythical Hog, will be accompanied by several normal wild hogs who'll also try to kill you.
• Mythical Animals have so much health that Bows will have little effect. It's better to use guns like Shotguns and Assault Rifles instead, and come with Gear and Weapons that give useful Hunting perks.
• If you bring an Assault Rifle to the encounter, make sure to bring one with a large magazine. You don't want to be going through a reload while a Mythical Animal tries to gnaw Dani's arm off!
• You may also want to take on these encounters with an aggressive Amigo such as Guapo, Boom Boom, Chicharron, or Oluso so they can assist in the fight, and draw the animals off of you.
• For a completely unfair advantage, just bring a helicopter and level each animal's lair with rockets. Then hover near their carcasses to collect your rewards.
• Killing a Mythical Animal will reward you with their skin or pelt. Unlike any other animal, it's impossible to damage these with gunfire, explosives and fire.
• A Mythical Animal's pelt/skin can be traded for pieces of the Animal Gear Set at a Guerrilla Camp's Hunter's Lodge.
• The Animal Gear that you can acquire will give hunting-related buffs, such as tagging nearby animals or increasing the amount of meat scavenged from non-Mythical carcasses.

Mamutito - Mythical Hog

• Location: Isla Santuario - Vencejo - Prado Meadows - Cayo Seguro Peninsula - Mamutito's Glen
• Reward: Mamutito's Tusks, Alpha Hog Meat

Mamutito is located on Cayo Seguro Peninsula on Isla Santuario, which is the northwest area of Quito Bay. His glen is actually just a bit west of Punto Norte Lighthouse, which is where you start the Libertad Rises Operation that lets you leave Isla Santuario.

• Despite the fact that his glen looks like a boss arena, it is very much possible for Mamutito to leave via the southwest entrance and ambush you, so keep your distance unless you intend on taking him on.
• Mamutito is accompanied by many fellow wild hogs, who will make life difficult for you.
• Trade Mamutito's Tusks for the Primal Mask, which will automatically tag any nearby animals. This can help a LOT with future Mythical Animals to find out where they and their flunky companions are.
• Trade the Alpha Hog Meat for Industrial Circuits at Juan's Arms Dealers and Workbenches.

Perros Demoníacos - Mythical Coyotes

• Location: Madrugada - Aquas Lindas - Ida's Refuge - Danzante Ridge - Perros Demoníacos Den
• Reward: White Demoníaco Pelt, Black Demoníaco Pelt, Alpha Coyote Meat

The den of these mythical coyotes is located near Danzante Ridge in Madrugada, which is inside the Restricted Area that houses the FND Radar Bunker. To get here, drive along the western road until you find the abandoned car: near the trunk will be a hole in the fence. Follow the path here east and you'll soon encounter the coyotes near a rock arch.

• Perros Demoníacos means "Demon Dogs".
• These coyotes are unique as they're the only Mythical Animals that are part of a pair. Each one's pelt is traded for a different piece of the Animal Gear Set.
• The Perros Demoníacos are accompanied by several normal coyotes, who will of course attack you alongside the pair.
• The White Demoníaco isn't quite as aggressive as the other, and tends to use a shockwave howl more frequently than his twin.
• The Black Demoníaco is slightly more aggressive than his brother, and is more likely to rush up and try to maul Dani's arm.
• Trade the White Demoníaco Pelt for the Primal Bracer, which increases the amount of animal meat scavenged.
• Trade the Black Demoníaco Pelt for the Primal Boots, which improves Dani's movement speed after an animal kill.
• Trade the Alpha Coyote Meat for Industrial Circuits at Juan's Arms Dealers and Workbenches.

Venodiente - Mythical Crocodile

• Location: Valle de Oro - Balacera - Cienaga Nublada National Park - Cocodrilo Swamps - Hazardous Waste Disposal Site
• Reward: Venodiente Leather, Alpha Crocodile Meat

Venodiente is located in the Hazardous Waste Disposal Site within Cocodrilo Swamps, in the eastern peninsula of Valle de Oro's Balacera region.

• Venodiente is the most unique Mythical Animal because it is constantly emitting Viviro poison into the air. As such, we highly recommend equipping the Hazmat Mask you got at the start of the Fire And Fury Operation to protect Dani's eyes, as well as anything that increases your Poison Defense.
• Venodiente is accompanied by many fellow crocodiles, who will make life difficult for you.
• Trade the Venodiente Leather for the Primal Vest, which allows you to get closer to animals before they start to attack you. This can be helpful for ambushes, or if you're sick of being attacked by eagles all the time.
• Trade the Alpha Crocodile Meat for Industrial Circuits at Juan's Arms Dealers and Workbenches.

Sanguinario - Mythical Jaguar

• Location: El Este - Sierra Perdida - Promise Peaks - Torrero Beach - San Pedro Fishery
• Reward: Sanguinario Pelt, Alpha Jaguar Meat

Sanguinario is found in a small fishery complex along the southern coast of El Este's Sierra Perdida area, directly west of Vacia Coast Checkpoint S and South of Guerrilla Hideout Bolero.

• Sanguinario's main challenge is the location: the fishery shelter he stalks has lots of points for Sanguinario to hide behind and obscure otherwise clear shots. As well, the shelter has several smaller buildings, and he's not afraid to jump up onto them for an escape and/or ambush. The Triador Supremo and the La Varita Resolver Rifle that shoot through walls will help in this situation.
• While it is INCREDIBLY dangerous, positioning yourself on the end of a dock will at least ensure that Sanguinario can't attack you from the sides or behind, although this strategy is only really viable on Casual difficulty for most players.
• Sanguinario is accompanied by many fellow jaguars, who will make life difficult for you, especially because they can jump onto the roofs as well!
• Trade the Sanguinario Pelt for the Primal Pants, which increases the number of arrows Dani will have in reserve when using a bow.
• Trade the Alpha Jaguar Meat for Industrial Circuits at Juan's Arms Dealers and Workbenches.
